New Outfit

I decided to sew on something new and wanna try out other patterns.  I've been looking at some of the patterns from this book:

I tend to find something that is simple and easy to work with and here is one of my final sample result.  Not a perfect dress but I think I got the general idea and I will certainly redo another one but in a perfect form.

BlytheCon 2013 New York City

Here's a picture of Melanie meeting another Blythe doll with their mini mustache that was provided in the goodie bag.

I got the opportunity to attend my first BlytheCon 2013 in New York City.   I always wanted to attend a doll convention and to see what BlytheCon was all about.  I was pretty overwhelmed by the crowd and I was a bit shy.  Also it's my first time owning my first Blythe doll, so I didn't know what to expect.  What really fascinated me was the vendors; each booths has amazing ranges of doll clothes and accessories.  I'm so intrigue of how each vendors put so much times in crafting and sewing their doll outfits with such amazing details.  I got two outfits from pomme-pomme, her dresses are so beautiful and I couldn't resist not getting it for Melanie.

My Very First Blythe Doll

I recently purchased my very first Blythe Doll recently, she's a Takara 12" Blythe Petit de'jeuner Champs Elysee. My daughter named her Melanie and I think her name suits her very well. I wanted to learn sewing and make more pretty dresses for my blythe doll.  I hope this will be my long term hobby since I recently started to use my sewing machine again. After many failed attempts I finally made my very first party dress successfully using this adorable kitty fabric pattern.  The party dress pattern can be found here:

I had to tweak this pattern a bit, the bodice of the pattern that I first used in is small so I had to draw my own bodice.  I will try to give you a full tutorial of my version and clearly explanation in the future.
